SAN ANGELO – Detectives with the San Angelo Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division are searching for a man who shot a local teen Saturday night, October 21 in the College Hills subdivision.  

Police were dispatched to an area hospital around 9:00 p.m. Saturday for the report of a shooting victim.  Upon arrival, Officers learned the victim, 18, had been brought into the emergency room by friends.  The teen underwent emergency surgery for a gunshot wound to the abdomen and he remains hospitalized in serious condition. 

Further investigation revealed that just prior to the shooting, the victim was attending a party at a residence, possibly near SAC Avenue and Oxford Drive, when the victim became engaged in a in a physical altercation with the suspect.  The suspect was described as a white male in his early-to-mid-twenties, with dreadlocks. 

Update on shooting as of October 23. San Angelo Police arrested Dorian Confer, 17, in connection to Saturday's shooting. Confer has been charged with Aggravated Assault with Deadly Weapon.
