SAN ANGELO–The Family Shelter held a special candlelight vigil ceremony on October 18 in honor of Domestic Violence Awareness Month. The vigil was held at the San Angelo Performing Arts Center, 82 Gillis St.

A candle was placed on the stage as the name, her age, how she died and the date was read (see list below).

The names of each victim of family violence killed in the state of Texas in 2015 as a result of domestic violence, were called out. That list, comprised of 158 names, was compiled by the Texas Council on Family Violence.
