SAN ANGELO – The San Angelo Independent School Board met Tuesday, May 16 at 12 noon to canvas the official results from SAISD’s school board elections held on May 6th.

Incumbent, Art Hernandez, SAISD school board trustee, SMD 2, was re-elected as he defeated challenger, Eli Cruz Esquivel.

Hernandez garnered 353 votes which represented 75.11 percent compared to Esquivel’s 117 votes which represented 24.89 percent.

As for incumbents, Bill Dendle, SMD 1and Ami Mizell-Flint, SMD 4, who ran unopposed, the elections for those respective seats were cancelled.

The canvassing of SAISD school board results took place on the second floor of the Administration Building, 1621 University Ave.
