SAN ANGELO – The Alcohol & Drug Abuse Council for the Concho Valley, in conjunction with the Texas Health & Human Services Commission and the Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome Symposium, would like to invite the community to join us for Opioid Overdose Prevention Training to learn about the opioid agonist Naloxone and strategies for addressing the opioid epidemic on a community level.  The training will be held Tuesday, August 8, 2017 from 2:00pm-5:00pm at MHMR Service for the Concho Valley, 1501 W. Beauregard.    

Presenters Mark Kinzly and Charles Thibodeaux, co-founders of the Texas Overdose Naloxone Initiative, will teach attendees to recognize & respond to overdose, including use of Naloxone, update on the opioid epidemic in Texas, including new trends, provide knowledge of Street Outreach 101 and introduce guidelines and strategies for conducting street outreach.  This training is appropriate for addiction professionals, law enforcement, medical professionals, service providers, member of the community at large, members of the Recovery community, and family & friends of those in Recovery or active addiction. 3 CEU’s will be available for LCDC, LPC, LMFT, & SW.
