SAN ANGELO – For the 16th consecutive year, a cultural Mexican tradition, La Posada, that originated with Gregorio and Araceli Gutiérrez will once again take place at the McNease Convention Center as the community is cordially invited to attend.

On Friday, December 15th, the doors to the Convention Center will open at 5:30 p.m. to the public with the holiday, festive event to start at 6 p.m. and conclude at 9 p.m.

Christmas dinner will be served which consists of: rice and beans, tamales,  chips, and soft drinks; there will also be traditional Mexican punch, buñuelos and champurrado; plus candy for the kids and donuts.

And this year's Posada special guest is Old Saint Nick coming from North-of-the-Border with his entourage of  little “elves” to hand out toys to the children.

This year's La Posada sponsors are: Q99.5, Univision San Angelo and Angelo State University.
