SAN ANGELO – Ballet San Angelo is thrilled to announce that this year’s production of The Nutcracker will feature three all new backdrops that were revealed for the first time Sunday, December 10th at 1:30 p.m. as they are hung in The Murphey Performance Hall in preparation for the 35th annual production of The Nutcracker.

The sets were designed by Ballet San Angelo’s Artistic Director, Sandra Miller and Michael Burnett, Associate Professor of Theatre at Angelo State University (ASU.) The highly collaborative process has resulted in absolutely beautiful sets for this very important production.

“the set design process with Mike Burnett, was so much fun.  We worked together to come up with designs that reflect the architecture of the theatre and support the uniquely connected storyline.  We are super excited for San Angelo to see what we came up with…..they are beautiful!” - Sandra Miller, Artistic Director

Ballet San Angelo is extremely grateful to the many sponsors who made the large financial purchase of all new sets for this production possible: The San Angelo Area Foundation, The Art and Eva Camuñez Tucker Foundation, Bill & Karen Pfluger,  Sendero Drilling, and Ben & Beverly Stribling. Without the generous support of these foundations, businesses, and individuals BSA would not have been able to make this momentous step!

Tickets: The Nutcracker will be December 15 - 17, 2017 at The Murphey Performance Hall at City Auditorium. Tickets can be purchased at, by calling 325-284-3825, or visiting the Box Office at 82 Gillis St from 10 a.m. - 6 p.m.
