LEGAL NOTICE

THE CITY OF SAN ANGELO DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION AND CITY OF SAN ANGELO NOTICE OF INTENTION TO EXPEND UP TO $2 MILLION OF THE ONE HALF CENT SALES TAX FUNDS FOR THE PURPOSES OF:  A DEVELOPMENT AGREEMENT WITH AEP TEXAS INC. RELATING TO UTILITY AND INFRASTRUCTURE IMPROVEMENTS FOR PLATTING THE SUBDIVISION OF A PORTION OF PHASE II OF THE SAN ANGELO BUSINESS INDUSTRIAL PARK AND SUBMISSION OF AN APPLICATION TO THE U.S. DEPARTMENT OF COMMERCE FOR FUNDING THROUGH THE EDA 2017-2018 PUBLIC WORKS ASSISTANCE PROGRAM FOR INFRASTRUCTURE IMPROVEMENTS AT THE SAN ANGELO BUSINESS AND INDUSTRIAL PARK.   

The City of San Angelo Development Corporation and the City of San Angelo hereby give notice of intention to expend monies out of the one-half cent sales tax fund approved by voters in November 2010.  

The following projects authorized for Type B Development Corporations under the Texas Development Corporation Act and approved by voter adopted ballot proposition are funded up to the sums indicated:

• AEP TEXAS, INC.  for up to $750,000 relating to utility and infrastructure improvements necessary for platting the subdivision of a portion of Phase II of the San Angelo Business & Industrial Park

• EDA PUBLIC WORKS INVESTMENT ASSISTANCE PROGRAM for up to $1.25 million for infrastructure improvements at the San Angelo Business and Industrial Park

This notice is given pursuant to V.T.C.A. Government Code, Chapter 505, Section 160 which states  ”A Type B corporation may undertake a project under this chapter unless, not later than the 60th day after the date notice of the specific project or general type of project is first published, the governing body of the authorizing municipality receives a petition from more than 10 percent of the registered voters of the municipality requesting that an election be held before the specific project or general type of project is undertaken.”  The project will be undertaken 60 days after publication of this notice unless the City receives a petition from more than 10% of the registered voters requesting an election before the project is undertaken.
