SAN ANGELO – The site for this year’s Super Bowl of Bridals—the 27th annual West Texas Bridal Showcase for prospective, brides-to-be, kicks-off from the McNease Convention Center on Sunday, January 21 from 1 p.m.- 5 p.m. James Pettit, owner of West Texas Bridal and Pettit Productions stated that this giant winter extravaganza on a year basis averages between 750 to 1,500.

Prior to this highly successful, window shopping for wedding accessories, the Bridal Showcase was held for three years at the cavernous, Foster Communications Coliseum. Pettit was asked why it was moved to the Convention Center as it enters its third year there.

“The Coliseum is really great, size-wise, but when putting on a show like the Bridal Showcase requires, you are really looking for more of an elegant feel, which the McNease gives it that feeling,” said Pettit.

Pettit stated that what you lose in space, meaning not being in a large area, such as at the Convention, you gain in familiarity as vendors and attendees are in close proximity to each other.

For the 2018 WTBS, Pettit’s sponsor for this year’s engagement ring is Legend Jewelers; plus $25,000 worth of giveaway prizes which will be given away throughout the day. Thus far 75 vendors have signed on, with Pettit expecting a total of 100 to sign up. As for some of the vendors returning, there’s Miss Hatties, Legend Jewelers, David’s Bridal, Korona’s Formal Wear, Mahon’s Alterations and Jackson’s Ladies Fashion with 80 models for the fashion runway.

And, just like the Super Bowl has a champion who gets the trophy, five females will compete for a (playoff) spot as they square off against each other, digging into a four-tier cake where a fake diamond will be embedded.

“Hopefully, as the future brides prepare for their special day in trying to put it together, we can make it a little easier for them through the West Texas Bridal Showcase,” Pettit concluded.
