SAN ANGELO – On Saturday, February 3, 2018, NAACP Unit 6219 will hold its Annual Freedom Fund Banquet, 6:00 p.m. at the McNease Convention Center.  Individual tickets are $30.  Table Sponsor $350 (Reserved Seating for 10).

Our theme is “STEADFAST, UNITED IN DIVERSITY”.  Our speaker is Lieutenant Colonel Kandace M. Daffin, United States Army Commander 9th Battalion, United States Military Entrance Processing Command and Dallas Military Entrance Processing Station.

LT. Col. Daffin enlisted in the United States Army in July 1991 and served as a behavioral science specialist and discharge planner, Social Work Services, William Beaumont Army Medical Center, Fort Bliss, Texas; and cadet candidate, United States Military Academy Preparatory School.  She received her commission from the United States Military Academy in May 1998 and served as executive officer, 525th Replacement Company, Fort Lewis, Washington; battalion human resources officer and commander, Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 22nd Personnel Services Battalion, Fort Lewis; operations officer and executive officer, San Antonio MEPS, Texas; combat development officer, Soldier Support Institute, Training Support Battalion, Fort Jackson, South Carolina; staff and faculty, Department of Behavioral Sciences and Leadership, United States Military Academy, West Point, New York; plans officer, 14th Human Resources Sustainment Center, Fort Bragg, North Carolina; and deputy inspector general and command inspector general, 21st Theater Sustainment Command, Kaiserslautern, Germany.

In short, Lieutenant Colonel Kandace Daffin completed the Airborne Course, Air Assault School, Master Fitness Training Course, Adjutant General Officer Basic and Advanced Courses, and Intermediate Level Education Course.  She earned a Bachelor of Science in Economics from the United States Military Academy, West Point, New York, and a Master of Science in Clinical Psychology.

Her awards and decorations include two Meritorious Service Medals, the Joint Service Commendation Medal, two Army Commendation Medals, two Army Achievement Medals, and various unit and service medals and ribbons.
