SAN ANGELO – San Angelo National Prayer Breakfast' guest speaker for this Thursday, February 1 is Karen Abercrombie, an award winning actress, Parents' Choice Award winning storyteller and a motivational speaker. She recently received the Movieguide Grace Award for her performance in the Kendrick Brothers film, War Room. Karen played the spicy, 80 year-old prayer warrior, Miss Clara in the film. The movie was number #1 at the box office for two weeks straight and was in the top 10 for several weeks following. The prayer breakfast will start at 6 a.m. and will be held at the McNease Convention Center.

She has guest starred on several television shows. Her most recent television roles include playing the character, Zelda

Molskey on CBS's new show, The Inspectors and playing recurring character, Aberdeen, on AMC's hit show, Turn.

Karen has a few new projects in the works, which include an animated TV series, "Nana Kay and The Bible Quilt",

Abercrombie will be playing Nana Kay, and a new TV show called, "Good News". Abercrombie will be hosting this show.

Karen recently formed her own production company, Tapestry Entertainment, LLC, where she is creating and producing uplifting, thought provoking, positive entertainment for the big screen and for the stage.

Three of her film projects are currently in development and she has a stage production heading to an Off Broadway theatre in New York City. Abercrombie says, "I just want to be a wise and great steward of ALL of the gifts that God has given me. I am GRATEFUL for every one of them."
