Conexión San Ángelo/ Staff report

SAN ANGELO – Education Service Center Region XV is doing a migrant poverty simulation for our educators on July 23rd from 8:30 a. m. -3:00 p. m. at our 612 Irene St. location here in San Angelo.

If you have been a part of a simulation before, you know that we need about 30-34 participants to run the “agencies” role.  For our first timers, we will be providing an orientation meeting that morning to go over your roles. The actual simulation will be in the morning and in the afternoon we will be providing a migrant poverty workshop with Region 20.

We really wanted to invite the people that have worked with our migrant families to take on these roles so that when we debrief with our region they can meet the people helping out their students and families.

Please look at this as a training opportunity to help others that work with our migrant students and families of poverty. At the end of the simulation we always debrief as a group and we give all of our “agencies” a chance to share their own experiences with the participants.

If you plan to attend please let us know by April 30th … FMI call, 325-658-6571.
