SAN ANGELO – Most businesses or organizations receive an award on a job well done in a given year. Not many receive multiple ones, let alone in consecutive years. The Concho Valley Transit received two awards--- the 2018 Outstanding Small Urban Transit System Award and the 2017 Outstanding Rural Transit System Award just last spring for their efforts.

“Staff really worked hard as it motivated them to push forward to give it their best.” “said Vincente Huerta, CVT General Manager.

One of the changes that resulted in better service was related to software technology which allows us to collect data information to better serve our folks in the community, stated Huerta.

“One of the biggest changes that was made in fixed route bus system so that that system actually made us more reliable and on time more often so that people can count on the bus to be there at the time it is supposed to be,” Huerta said.

As for the second award, Outstanding Rural Transit System, the criteria that CVT met the was improvements in efficiency, effectiveness in service, certainly related to ridership.”

The Texas Transit Association (TTA) presented the Concho Valley Transit District (CVTD) with the Outstanding Small Urban Transit System Award during the 2018 TTA Annual Conference in San Antonio, TX.

“It is important for the community to know that we here to serve their needs, that’s why we are here,” concluded Huerta.
