San Angelo – San Angelo Gives, a powerful 24-hour online fundraising event, hopes to ignite philanthropic giving in the Concho Valley on May 1, 2018.

Powered by the San Angelo Area Foundation, San Angelo Gives allows individuals to make an impact by collectively supporting local nonprofit organizations whose mission aligns with their passions. The 24 hours of giving begins at midnight on May 1st and ends at 11:59 p.m.

Throughout the event, individuals may view online profiles of more than 170 nonprofit organizations serving San Angelo and the Concho Valley. San Angelo Gives provides a way to expand the donor base for local non-profits by enabling them to draw support from anywhere in the world while exposing donors to organizations they feel passionate about.

In 2017, organizations received gifts from twenty-nine states, confirming that San Angelo is truly loved! Anyone, anywhere, can learn about and give to their participating non-profit of choice at www.sanangelogives.org.

The San Angelo Area Foundation and partners maximize the community’s generosity by “amplifying” each donation, making each gift greater. Donors also can help their favorite charities win cash prizes to further their mission. The minimum donation is $10. Last year’s event made history by raising over $1.4 million for area non-profits.

On May 1, San Angelo Gives hopes to raise $1.75 million with a stretch goal of $2 million. “By pairing the generosity of donors with our ability to amplify their gifts, the positive effects we can bring to our community are immeasurable,” according to Matt Lewis, President and CEO of the San Angelo Area Foundation. “The record setting 24 hours brings together donors of all giving levels and offers supporters the opportunity to join the collective effort of improving the long-term outlook of our community by supporting the many organizations that provide needed services and tackle difficult challenges in our area. We truly believe that every donation, no matter how large or small, makes a difference.”
