SAN ANGELO – “La Abuela”, located at 2821 North Chadbourne Street, is the name of the newest Tamales Factory and Restaurant business which opened on Saturday, April 28, 2018.

Sandra Berridge, co-owner, was asked why was the name, “La Abuela” (which means Grandmother) chosen?

"Well, like everything, if you decide the name for the birth of a child, then it's because you liked that name,” said Berridge. “I as a Grandmother feel that love a lot, so I chose to give it that name, “La Abuela” So, what makes “La Abuela” Factory, Restaurant unique? “The tamales are just like Grandma used to make them,” she said.

Berridge’s other partner in the Tamales Factory business is Patricia Rivera. “La Abuela” also produces fresh chorizo, Menudo, barbacoa, tortillas, and anything else that the customer requests. Mr. Luis Legorreta oversees the business.

“La Abuela” is open from 6 a.m. until 2 p.m., from Tuesday to Sunday.
