SAN ANGELO – The San Angelo Salvation Army is pleased to welcome new Corps Officers (church leaders), Majors Stan and Debi Carr. They have quickly settled into their new surroundings and are looking forward to getting to know the community and continuing the ministry of The Salvation Army. 

Salvation Army Officers are periodically transferred to different locations, typically every 3-4 years. Majors Stan and Debi are enthusiastic and dynamic leaders and come to San Angelo from Dallas, TX, where for the last four years they were responsible for the programs and services of The Salvation Army in Irving, TX.

Majors Stan and Debi Carr, are both fifth generation Salvationists. They were ordained and commissioned June 14, 1986 and have just completed thirty-two years in the Salvation Army. The Carrs have been married for forty years and have family living in Oklahoma and Canada. For the past ten years, they have lived in Texas and served as Corps Officers in Houston and Dallas. Together the couple has a wonderful ministry and they are passionate about the mission of The Salvation Army.

“It has been exciting to meet the people of San Angelo and discover the opportunities for ministry here,” said Major Stan. “We look forward to meeting the needs of this community and ‘Doing The Most Good’ alongside the staff, volunteers, and supporters of The Salvation Army.”   

The couple is responsible for all church programs and social services at The Salvation Army including the Emergency Shelter, Family Thrift Store, Emergency Disaster Services, and Church.     

“Many people don’t realize that The Salvation Army is a church,” said Major Stan Carr. “We invite everyone to join us for Worship each Sunday at 11:00 AM, at The Salvation Army Church, located at 34 W. 3rd St, here in San Angelo. We look forward to meeting you soon!”
