KELLER–With the ‘Cats 66-14, Class 6A Division I area playoff win against Keller Timber Creek Falcons behind them, Central High can now focus its attention as it hosts the top-ranked team in the state—the Allen Eagles.

The Bobcats completed a perfect season with a 10-0 record, two weeks ago. On top of that, with their two playoff wins, Central has now matched the 1943 team with 12 wins; eventually that team won the state championship.

That background narrative sets up Coach Brent Davis’ Cats for next Friday’s 4 p.m. kick-off game from San Angelo Stadium against NO. 1 ranked Allen. Both teams enter the game with perfect 12-0 records; plus the 'Cats are on a 22-game winning streak at home that will be at stake.

But before looking ahead, let’s look back at Friday’s game from Keller ISD Stadium. Once the Bobcats won the coin flip, deferred to receive the ball in the second half, their Angry Orange stonewall defense repaid the favor to its offense as it set the tone.

‘Cats defensive back, Brock Martin intercepted Keller Timber Creek quarterback, Cade Schrader, on the Falcons first offensive series. CHS scores quickly as point man, Cal Vincent throws a 39-yard touchdown pass to Adam West. It’s Central 7, Keller Timber Creek, 0 early in the first quarter.

The Falcons come back and tie the game 7-7 when running back, Blake Irving, scores from 4-yards out.

Keller stayed even with Central until the second quarter when the Bobcats began to pull away. When half-time rolled around, CHS had scored 24 points to Keller’s 7 to lead, 31-14.

After three quarters, the Bobcats led going away 52-14 before finishing off the Falcons with two more touchdowns in the fourth while Keller never scored in the second half, to win 66-14.
