SAN ANGELO – Central High School Junior Quarterback Maverick McIvor was recently named the Built Ford Tough class 6A football player of the week for the state of Texas.

McIvor posted incredible numbers in the Bobcats 52-42 win on September 21st against Killeen Shoemaker. In that week 4 non-district contest, McIvor threw for 237 yards and 5 touchdowns. In addition he also ran for 207 yards and another touchdown and he also caught a touchdown pass in the game. McIvor becomes just the 3rd Central Bobcat quarterback to ever win the award.

In its 12 years, the Built Ford Tough Player of the Week award has become the most sought after in Texas because it honors fine young men who have succeeded on the field, in the classroom and in the community. Hosted by anchors Ric Renner and Randy Rodgers, The Built Ford Tough Texas High School Football Player of the Week TV show airs on Fox Sports Southwest on Friday morning at 8 a.m. The show re-airs on Saturday morning at 8:30 a.m.
