KINGSVILLE – The Angelo State baseball team lost in the series finale against Texas A&M-Kingsville 9-5 Sunday afternoon, dropping the series, three games to one.

The Rams (27-12, 7-5 LSC) gave up eight runs on 11 hits and committed two errors in the loss.

"Today was a disappointing end to a disappointing weekend," Angelo State head baseball coach Kevin Brooks said. "Hopefully it's something we can learn from and we get better from here."

TAMUK jumped on the board early while Angelo State starter Josh Barnett was still on the mound. After a scoreless first from both teams, the Javelinas struck with a lead-off homer to get on the board. They then loaded the bases with one out and the quickly cleared them with a three-run triple, knocking Barnett from the game with the Rams in a 5-0 hole.
