SAN ANGELO - The Angelo State baseball team was ranked No. 6 in the most recent NCAA South Central Regional Rankings, the association announced on Wednesday. 

The Rams currently sit in third in the Lone Star Conference with a 32-14 record and a 13-7 showing in LSC play. All 46 of their games have been in-region. 

Arkansas-Fort Smith leads this week's rankings in the No. 1 spot with LSC-leading West Texas A&M in second. Colorado-Mesa is ranked No. 3 with another LSC member, Texas A&M-Kingsville, at No. 4 and Colorado School of Mines in fifth. After Angelo State at No. 6 is St. Edward's and St. Mary's at seventh and eighth, respectively. The top six teams at the end of the season will advance to the NCAA Postseason Tournament.

The Rams will play their final series of the regular season this weekend, taking on West Texas A&M in four games Friday through Sunday at Foster Field at 1st Community Credit Union Stadium.
