The future seems like an endless plain. We plan for the New Year or maybe the next 10 years.

What Does The Bible Say?

James 4:13-15 says… “Come now, you who say, ‘Today or tomorrow we will go into such and such a town and spend a year there and trade and get gain’ whereas you do not know about tomorrow. What is your life? For you are a mist that appears for a little time and then vanishes. Instead you ought to say, ‘If the Lord wills, we shall live and we shall do this or that.”

From this scripture, we learn:

1.The future is in the hands of God.

2.Our life span is short.

3.Maybe shorter than we think.

4.We should acknowledge the Lord’s sovereignty in our plans. “If the Lord wills…”

It is interesting how much we consider when we plan…weather, interest rates, current trends, our health, etc.
