We are always making plans for the future.

What Does The Bible Say?

James 4:13-17 says… “Come now, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we will go into such and such a town and spend a year there and trade and get gain”; whereas you do not know about tomorrow. What is your life? For you are a mist that appears for a little time and then vanishes. Instead you ought to say, “If the Lord wills, we shall live and we shall do this or that.” As it is, you boast in your arrogance. All such boasting is evil. Whoever knows what is right to do and fails to do it, for him it is sin.”

From this scripture, we learn:

1. Many of us make plans. V13

2. We do not really know what the future holds. V14

3. Our life is short. V14

4. We should include God in our plans. V15

5. When we make plans without God, we are arrogant. V16

6. This kind of arrogance is sin. V16

We do not know what the future holds, but we do know who holds the future.
