There is a lot of talk about the coming of the Lord. Some think He is not coming back and others think He has already returned.

What does the Bible say?

II Peter 3:9-13 says... “The Lord is not slow about His promise as some count slowness, but is forbearing toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance. But the day of the Lord will come like a thief and then the heavens will pass away with a loud noise and the elements will be dissolved with fire, and the earth and the works that are upon it will be burned up. Since all these things are thus to be dissolved, what sort of persons ought you to be in lives of holiness and godliness, waiting for and hastening the coming of the day of God, because of which the heavens will be kindled and dissolved and the elements will melt with fire! But according to His promise, we wait for new heavens and a new earth in which righteousness dwells.”

From this scripture, we learn:

1. The Lord has delayed His return because He loves you and wants you saved.

2. No one knows the exact day the Lord will return.

3. When it happens, there will be no mistake.

4. The heavens will pass away with a loud noise.

5. The earth will be burned up.

6. This is so important, we must be READY.

7. We wait without fear because He has a new place for us.

Jesus said, “Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will not pass away.” Matthew 24:35
