81 teams compete in the 63rd San Angelo Relays

The Division I Boys (5-6A) preliminary 100 meter-dash took place Friday, March 25, 2022 at San Angelo Stadium. SAN ANGELO –The 63rd annual San Angelo Relays’ results were posted with the top 3 team standings represented in four divisions. The 2-day track and field event held March 25-26, 2022 at San Angelo Stadium, brought 81 boys and girls high school teams from across the state entered in track events: hurdles, relays and sprints. As for the field of competition, included were: the pole vault, long jump, triple jump, shot put, discus and high jump.

Among the teams entered in Division 1, 2, 3 and 4, boys and girls were SAISD Central High School and Lake View High School.

The LVHS Chief Maidens’ Faith Miller, and her teammates competed in Friday’s preliminary track race, the 800-mile relay. Miller ran the second leg for her team.

Another female, 15-year-old, Trinity Washington competed in a field event. Washington who is a freshman at the Central Freshman Campus, participated in the high jump.

Friday’s preliminary events got underway at 1 p.m. with Saturday’s presentation of Division Champions scheduled at 4 p.m.

Division II

Top 3 team standings – 1. Dumas, 129; 2. Fort Stockton, 113; 3. San Angelo Lake View, 84; Others: 4. Andrews, 51; 12. Greenwood, 13; 17. Forsan, 4; 18. Big Spring 1

Division III

Top 3 team standings – 1. Midland High, 98; 2. Round Rock Cedar Ridge, 86; 3. Wolfforth Frenship, 78; Other: 7. Legacy, 47

Division IV

Team standings – 1. Andrews, 99; 2. Dumas, 78; 3. Monahans, 76; Others: 5. Greenwood, 55.5.
