ASU Wind Ensemble 'British Masterworks' Concert

The Angelo State University Wind Ensemble will present its first concert of the fall season on Sunday, Oct. 6, in the Murphey Performance Hall at 72 W. College Ave. in downtown San Angelo.

Titled "British Masterworks of Band Literature," the concert will begin at 2:30 p.m. and is free and open to the public. The musical program will include:


•              "English Folk Song Suite" by Ralph Vaughan Williams

•              "Awayday" by Adam Gorb

•              "Hammersmith" by Gustav Holst

•              "Red Machine" by Peter Graham

•              "Tam O'Shanter" by Malcolm Arnold


The ASU Wind Ensemble features about 50 student musicians performing on various woodwind, brass and percussion instruments. It is directed by Dr. Jonathan Alvis, ASU director of bands.

El Angelo State University Wind Ensemble presentará su primer concierto de la temporada de otoño el domingo 6 de octubre en el Murphey Performance Hall en 72 W. College Ave. en el centro de San Angelo.

El concierto, titulado "British Masterworks of Band Literature", comenzará a las 2:30 p. m. y es gratuito y abierto al público. El programa musical incluirá:

• "English Folk Song Suite" de Ralph Vaughan Williams

• "Awayday" de Adam Gorb

• "Hammersmith" de Gustav Holst

• "Red Machine" de Peter Graham

• "Tam O'Shanter" de Malcolm Arnold

El ASU Wind Ensemble cuenta con unos 50 músicos estudiantes que tocan diversos instrumentos de viento de madera, de metal y de percusión. Está dirigido por el Dr. Jonathan Alvis, director de bandas de ASU.
