Savannah Lopez, Perla Garza and their children were among the families to attend H-E-B’s Feast of Sharing Thanksgiving meal held at the First Financial Pavilion on Sunday, November 6, 2022 from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m.
SAN ANGELO –This year’s 26th annual, H-E-B’s Feast of Sharing and its volunteers rather than the traditional turkey with mashed potatoes, and gravy on the menu, instead dished out brisket, with beans, potato salad, dinner rolls, and for dessert, pumpkin pie.
Among the families who attended the 11 a.m.- 3 p.m. “come as you go” pre-Thanksgiving meal, were two young mothers with their precious children—Savannah Lopez and Perla Garza.
Savannah now 25-years-old, stated that she has been coming to FOS since she was a little girl with her parents. As for her best friend, Perla this is her fourth year to attend. Lopez and Garza were asked what does Thanksgiving mean to you? “Being grateful for all the good that has happened to our family. Also, time with our family and loved ones,” Lopez said.
“I like the food and being with family, enjoying each other’s company, said Garza.
On Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, November 24, Savannah and boyfriend, Pravee will start their own family holiday tradition with their children: Penelope, and Dominic.
Perla will celebrate the holiday with her mom, and two sisters in Corpus Christi at relatives. On this Sunday though, Lopez, Garcia and their children spent pre-Thanksgiving as best friends and as families together. “Happy Thanksgiving from our family to yours” as both moms were in complete harmony with holiday wishes.
Also, on the holiday menu over in the Community Center, there were children’s’ activities, also arts and crafts. And live entertainment by one musician, Manny Diaz who sang cover songs from the 70s.
