Central High School duke, Bryalon Roundtree and duchess, Riely Heckaman rode in this year’s 2023 CHS Homecoming Parade held at 6 p.m. on Thursday, September 7, 2023.
SAN ANGELO – The San Angelo Central High School Homecoming Parade rolled out the “Red Carpet” treatment for this year’s 2023 king and queen nominees who were either dressed to-the-nines, or wore nostalgic 60s, 70s outfits considered nostalgia.
Red Carpet which symbolizes glamour and elegance was certainly in vogue as the majority of Central High Bob Cats’ Nation students dressed up in either 50s, 60s, 1990s, 2000s outfits as this year’s theme was Dress Up Days.
Oh, as for that “Red Carpet,” there wasn’t one actually per se. However, the duchess and dukes were treated as if royal celebrities. The Lady Cats’ volleyball team made a fashionista statement with lovely, black outfits and white lettering, another CHS student who eerily looked like Kevin Jonas from the Jonas Brothers pop Band, wore yellow psychedelic shades, and was equipped with an electric guitar, girls aboard another float displayed their favorite NBA basketball teams’ jersey such as the Los Angeles Lakers, another girls group dressed in 80s fashion trend, brought an intense high energy. And duke nominee, Carter Lyles had his girl fanbase out in force as the tennis girls displayed a large sign that read. “We love Carter!”
The Parade was followed by a Community Pep Rally held at 7 p.m. in the San Angelo Stadium. It was there when Central crowned Central senior center and team captain, Braylen Roundtree as its’ Homecoming King.
The CHS Homecoming queen will be crowned during halftime of the Bobcats vs Abilene Cooper Cougars game. Kick-off from San Angelo Stadium is set for 7 p.m. on Friday, September 8, 2023.
