Muchas personas dicen creer en Jesús. Declaran su fe e incluso realizan grandes obras por él; pero ¿es eso suficiente? ¿Qué dice la Biblia?
Mateo 7:21-23 “No todo el que me dice: ‘Señor, Señor’, entrará en el reino de los cielos, sino el que hace la voluntad de mi Padre que está en los cielos. En aquel día muchos me dirán: ‘Señor, Señor, ¿no profetizamos en tu nombre, y en tu nombre echamos nuestros demonios, y en tu nombre hicimos muchos milagros?’. Y entonces les declararé: ‘Jamás os conocí; apartaos de mí, hacedores de maldad’.
De estas palabras de Jesús aprendemos:
Jesús dirá «Jamás os conocí» a algunos que:
a. Digan: ‘Señor, Señor’ (confiesen);
b. Profeticen o prediquen la palabra;
c. Hagan milagros en su nombre.
Entonces, ¿quién puede ser salvo y reclamado por Jesús? Vean la escritura anterior: «Pero el que hace la voluntad de mi Padre que está en los cielos», ese es el que puede ser salvo y reclamado por Jesús.
Hay un antiguo himno que cantamos que dice precisamente esto: “Confía y obedece, porque no hay otra manera”. Debemos creerle y obedecer sus mandatos.

What Does the Bible Say?
Many people say they believe in Jesus. They declare their faith and even do great deeds for him; but is that enough? What does the Bible say?
Matthew 7:21-23 “Not every one who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. On that day many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast our demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?’ And then will I declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you evildoers.’
From these words of Jesus, we learn:
Jesus will say “I never knew you” to some who:
a. Say Lord, Lord (confess)
b. Prophecy or preach the word
c. Do mighty works in His name.
Then who can be saved and claimed by Jesus? Look at the scripture above, “But he who does the will of my father who is in heaven” that is who can be saved and claimed by Jesus.
There is an old hymn we sing that says this very thing, “Trust and Obey for there’s no other way.” We must believe him and obey his commands.
