El 13 de marzo de 2025, un tercero no involucrado contactó al Departamento de Policía de San Angelo por un incidente ocurrido en la Escuela Preparatoria Lake View. La Unidad de Delitos contra Menores del Departamento investigó este incidente, que involucró una presunta relación inapropiada entre un estudiante y el personal.
Esta mañana, Abraham Gonzales (24), maestro del Distrito Escolar Independiente de San Angelo, se entregó a la Oficina del Sheriff del Condado de Tom Green tras la emisión de una orden judicial por "Relación Inapropiada entre Educador/Estudiante (Delito Grave de Segundo Grado)".
Durante la investigación, se alegó que un oficial de recursos escolares había mantenido comunicaciones inapropiadas con la misma víctima. El oficial fue inmediatamente puesto en licencia administrativa para que se pudiera llevar a cabo una investigación interna. Para mayor transparencia, el Departamento de Policía de San Angelo compartió toda la información recibida durante la investigación criminal con la Oficina del Sheriff del Condado de Tom Green, quien revisará el incidente para determinar si hubo alguna infracción penal. La investigación continúa y no hay más información disponible por el momento.

Improper Relationship between Educator/Student

The San Angelo Police Department was contacted from a non-involved 3rd party on March 13, 2025
of an incident that occurred at Lake View High School. The Department’s Crimes Against Children
Unit investigated this incident which involved a perceived improper relationship between a student
and staff.
This morning, San Angelo ISD Teacher Abraham Gonzales (24), turned himself in to the Tom
Green County Sheriff’s Office after a warrant had been issued for “Improper Relationship between
Educator/Student (2nd Degree Felony)”.
During the investigation, it was alleged that a School Resource Officer had engaged in inappropriate
communications with the same victim. The Officer was immediately placed on administrative leave
so an internal investigation could take place. For the sake of transparency, the San Angelo Police
Department shared all information received during the criminal investigation with the Tom Green
County Sheriff’s Office, who will be reviewing the incident to see if there was any criminal
wrongdoing.
The investigation is ongoing, there is no further information to release at this time.
