How do I get close to God and far from Satan?
What Does the Bible Say?
James
7 Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. 8 Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded. 9 Be wretched and mourn and weep. Let your laughter be turned to mourning and your joy to gloom. 10 Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will exalt you.
From this scripture, we learn:
We must submit to God. That means we obey Him. V7
We must resist the devil. We do not have to defeat the devil but we must resist him. V7
When we resist the devil, we have a promise he will flee from us. V7
We must draw near to God. V8
When we draw near to God, He will draw near to us.
So the devil is fleeing and God is drawing near.
We are to get rid of sin in our lives. “Clean our hands.” V8 “Purify our hearts”.
We need to be sorry for sin. V9
When we humble ourselves before God, He will exalt us. V10

7 Someteos, pues, a Dios. Resistid al diablo, y huirá de vosotros. 8 acérquense a Dios, y él se acercará a ustedes. Limpiad vuestras manos, pecadores, y purificad vuestros corazones, vosotros de doble ánimo. 9 Desgraciaos, lamentaos y llorad. Que vuestra risa se convierta en luto y vuestra alegría en tristeza. 10 Humillaos delante del Señor, y él os exaltará.
De esta escritura, aprendemos:
Debemos someternos a Dios. Eso significa que le obedecemos. V7
Debemos resistir al diablo. No tenemos que vencer al diablo, pero debemos resistirlo. V7
Cuando resistimos al diablo, tenemos la promesa de que huirá de nosotros. V7
Debemos acercarnos a Dios. V8
Cuando nos acercamos a Dios, Él se acercará a nosotros.
Así que el diablo huye y Dios se acerca.
Debemos deshacernos del pecado en nuestras vidas. “Límpianos las manos”. V8 “Purifica nuestros corazones”.
Necesitamos arrepentirnos del pecado. V9
Cuando nos humillamos ante Dios, Él nos exaltará. V10
